Nebbiolo Langhe Il Favot 2013
This wine’s black and red cherry flavors feel vibrant and ripe, dense enough to sustain their freshness through 18 months in new barriques. The oak influence feels dominant at first, with notes of clove and vanilla, but with time in the glass, the bright fruit flavors burst through with notes of raspberry and mint, leading to a long and energetic finish. A few years in the cellar will allow the oak flavors to meld, making this a delicious match for braised beef agnolotti.
