Hailing from the wild and rugged landscape of Priorat, Gratavinum is a line of wines from the Cusiné family of Pares Baltà. As with their famed Penedès wines, these are wines of terroir farmed organically and biodynamically. Their practice of non-irrigation force the vines’ roots to go deeper in search of water, allowing them to withstand draught while at the same time contributing to the complex profile of the wines and extracting the distinctive mineral characters of the licorella rich soils.

2piR is known as a round wine and represents the precision and philosophy of Gratavinum: minimal intervention, authentic terroir expression, and a refined balance between power and elegance. The 2022 vintage delivers remarkable purity — vibrant dark fruits, wild herbs, graphite, and mineral tension layered over polished tannins and fresh acidity.

James Suckling, September 2024 (Vintage 2022)

Fruit tea, ripe berries, red plums and pomegranates on the nose. A nicely chewy palate with rich fruit and a flavorful finish.

About GRATAVINUM

GRATAVINUM

In the wild and rugged landscape of the Priorat, a dramatic struggle for survival of the vine is carried out. An unique atmosphere that captures any nature and wine lover. That was what attracted the Cusiné Family, one of the traditional wine families in the region of Penedes. That was the magic that led them to start this project with the young winemaker Jordi Fernandez. Gratavinum name is formed by the contraction of the name of the village where the winery is: Gratallops and Vinum wine in latin, in honour to the Romans who introduced the cultivation of vines in the region many centuries ago. Today Gratavinum possesses 17hectareas vineyards in all of them organically grown.
