Anthony Gismondi on Bisol Prosecco Superiore
There are many great stories in wine, such as the Bisol family, who can point to an ancient document that testifies they were already involved in winegrowing in S. Stefano di Valdobbiadene as early as 1542. Today in Valdobbiadene, Bisol specializes in making Prosecco Superiore DOCG, from grapes grown under what locals term “heroic viticulture” the steep hills of Valdobbiadene.

Bisol: Terroir-Focused Prosecco Superiore
Desiderio"Jeio" Bisol recognized that the hills of Valdobbiadene had different terroirs and sought to capture their diversity and uniqueness. Today, his grandsons Desiderio, Chief Enologist & Technical Director and Gianluca, President & CEO are on a mission to showcase the excellence of their site and terroir driven Prosecco Superiore.
All grapes for Bisol Prosecco Superiore are handpicked and are 100% estate-grown in Valdobbiadene. Their Cartizze below is the “Grand Cru” of Prosecco coming from the tallest hill in Prosecco at 305 metres above sea level with only 107 hectares of vines partitioned between 140 growers. The Bisol family have been farmers on Cartizze since 1542! The Relio is the driest of the Bisol line hailing from the steep slopes (rive) of (di) Guia, while Crede brings you to the clay soils of Valdobbiadene.
All Bisol wines are vintage dated to help paint a clearer picture of time and place.

James Suckling, August 2022
Quite dry and mineral, with a smoky, flinty lift to the green apples and white blossoms. Lovely purity and poise on the palate, with a mouthwatering finish.

Gismondi on Wine, November 2020
Crede is local dialect for the clay-laden soils in the municipality of Valdobbiadene. The ancient slopes were once under the sea before inching back up over time into the hilly vineyards of Prosecco Superiore DOCG. The clay plays a role in avoiding the effects of drought and preserving acidity. Crede is hand-harvested from 250 meters altitude, is 85 percent glera, and comes with bright yellow tones. The nose is reminiscent of wildflowers and wet stones. The attack is fresh and clean with minimal residual sugar, adding some weight and fullness without a big sugary effect. Apples and pears and minerality round out a crisp, clean finish. Perfect for the patio.
