Trialto is pleased to present three new wines from the Francis Ford Coppola collection, two of which are special reserve wines, Archimedes and Eleanor.

Archimedes is produced in very limited quantities. Honouring the memory of Coppola's uncle, the name is inspired by the accomplishments of great men as this wine represents the team's dedication to great wine making.

The second of the reserve wines, Eleanor red blend is a beautiful wine to honour Francis' wife. Together, they built their wine business. The eye-catching label was designed by Eleanor herself, showcasing her three passions: wine, art, and textiles. Limited quantities produced.

Upon opening a bottle of the 2018 Archimedes, one is welcomed by enticing aromas of cocoa, toffee, and raisins. Pouring and tasting reveals a wine that is dark in color. Rich, smooth tannins, and plush, mouth-coating flavors of mocha, cassis, and clove tantalizing the palate with hints of tobacco on the long finish.

Opaque ruby-purple in colour, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Archimedes opens with wafts of menthol and rich cassis, with pure touches of pencil shavings, tobacco leaves and exotic spices on the nose. The full-bodied palate is firm and grainy with bold, dark fruits and a mineral-laced finish.

Extraordinary aromas and mouth-filling flavors highlight the 2018 Eleanor, a rich, velvety wine with sophisticated levels of complexity. Sonoma fruit provides this vintage with polish and a wealth of structure to further evolve in the bottle. Lively notes of plum, coconut, and roasted nuts on the nose are accentuated on the palate with impressions of tobacco, chocolate, baking spices, vanilla, plums, and blue fruit. Excellent length and concentration make this a vintage to remember.

FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA

Francis Ford Coppola was first exposed to winemaking while growing up in New York; his grandfather and uncles were making wine in their basement using grapes they shipped in from California. After marrying in 1962, Francis and his wife Eleanor became the owners of a substantial and beautiful wine estate outside of San Francisco. They have now been married for over 50 years and still live on the estate with their family.
