Top Flight Chianti

We've told you this before, but this wine is pretty special! A remarkable value capable of 3 to 4 decades worth of aging. We have tasted this Chianti back to the 1970s which is a rare treat for something so affordable. It is also such a quintessential example of Chianti that you will find yourself drinking it again and again on weeknights with pasta or with a larger group and something more extravagant (Bistecca Fiorentina!). If you hope to have any in your cellar to last decades think about buying this in cases, not just the one. You will be rewarded!

August 2021

Black cherry, crushed stone and citrus fruit on the nose. Aromatic and pleasing. Medium-bodied with vivid fruit and a fresh finish. Very typical Chianti Rufina with subtle, clean fruit and bright acidity.

About SELVAPIANA

SELVAPIANA

For decades Selvapiana’s wines have been as elegant and restrained as any in Chianti, with a great reputation for longevity. No estate in Chianti Rufina is more highly regarded. The wines are a reflection of the region’s unique environment featuring a mix of galestro, limestone and clay soils, higher altitude, and cooler microclimate than in Chianti Classico combining to produce later ripening fruit with higher acidity.
