Age worthy & amazing value Chianti

Ok we know we said this before… but this is very special Chianti. Selvapiana is a remarkable value capable of 3 to 4 decades worth of aging. We have tasted it back to the 1970s which is a rare treat for something so affordable. It is also such a quintessential example of Chianti that you will find yourself drinking it again and again with pizza and pasta on weeknights or for a flashy Bistecca Fiorentina when entertaining a large group of guests (the large formats are perfect for the latter scenario).

If you plan on cellaring, consider more than one case as it is so drinkable that you, like several of us, will find your cellar stash quickly depleting. Black cherry, crushed stone and citrus fruit on the nose. Aromatic and pleasing. Medium-bodied with vivid fruit and a fresh finish. Very typical Chianti Rufina with subtle, clean fruit and bright acidity.

A very pure and beautiful red with cherry and strawberry. Subtle spice, such as nutmeg and cedar. Orange peel, too. Medium to full body. Firm, silky tannins melt nicely into the wine. Fresh and clean finish. A little tight at the end. A beautiful single-vineyard Chianti Rufina with structure.
