Wine Spectator on TRIMBACH

Titre

Trimbach’s commitment to dry wines with racy acidity means that its bottlings age exceptionally well and can sometimes present as austere in their youth—hence the winery’s practice of long aging in bottle before release.

James Suckling, December 2020

Here’s one for those who think riesling is always a light wine. A rich, mouth-filling and succulent wine that easily has enough freshness to carry the ample body and cornucopia of ripe yellow fruit. Great structure through the long, texturally complex finish. Drink or hold.

James Suckling, December 2020

Very citrusy with orange-blossom and bergamot notes, this is a super-mineral dry riesling with quite an austere personality. Give it some air if you can, and a seafood platter would help too. Very long, tight and firm finish. Drink or hold.

James Suckling, January 2024

Poured from a magnum, this age-worthy wine is snappy and precise in texture, offering abundant minerals, orange zest and white peach in the aroma and crisp, stony flavors on the palate. Focused, invigorating and still young, it will drink best from 2028.

Wine Spectator, October 2010

The overall elegance here belies the complexity found in the finely meshed layers of flavor and delicate acidity, with a pronounced smoke note winding through the lemon curd, brine, white peach, honeysuckle and lychee flavors. Just a touch of pine and candle wax shows also, lingering on the long finish.
