High Note gets its name in reference to the altitude of the vineyards located high in the Andes Moutains of the Uco Valley. Mendoza lies in the foothills of the moutians and the vineyards range from 3,300-5,000 ft above sea level, which lends unique characteristics to the wine.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with punchdowns and pumpovers during the alcoholic fermentation. The wine is aged in a mix of 50% French and 50% American oak, 25% of which is new for up to 9 months before bottling where it ages for a further 3 months.
Intense nose blackberry laced with spice fragrances, hints of blueberry. Barrel aging provides further complexity with delicate chocolate and vanilla flavors.

See detailed press reviewA fruity and juicy malbec with plenty of black cherries, sweet currants and spices. Round, fresh and firm on the palate, ending with some light, sweet spices and ripe cherries. Direct, relatively simple and fruity, but pretty well-made.
