Jean-Marc Brocard's origins lie in the Côte d'Or, a farmer's son from the village of Chaudenay-le-Château, not even the son of the vigneron. Bright, pale yellow. Good thrust to the aromas of citrus and stone fruits, flowers and menthol. Fatter and denser than the Cote de Joan but with more energy as well. The apple and peach flavors show good depth and persistence.
A broad array of citrus influences are laced with hints of oyster shell and mineral reduction where the citrus elements are picked up by the racy, delicious and detailed middle weight flavors that terminate in a bone-dry, compact and youthfully austere finale. This fine effort delivers very good length but is a wine that clearly needs at least a few years of patience.
