Arnot-Roberts a été fondé en 2001 à Healdsburg, en Californie, par deux amis d’enfance : Duncan Arnot Meyers et Nathan Lee Roberts. Duncan Arnot Meyers a grandi dans le vin. Le meilleur ami de son père était Bernard Portet, le co-fondateur de Clos du Val, et Duncan a passé une bonne partie de sa jeunesse près de ce domaine, dans la vallée de Napa.
