About this winery

Talenti is a gorgeous estate located in one of the world's most picturesque regions - the valley of the river Orcia, south of the legendary hill town of Montalcino, near the beautiful (and beautifully preserved) medieval monastery of Sant'Antimo, where if you were lucky, you might still hear the monks singing beneath the ancient Romanesque arches of the church built in the early 12th century: they continue to do so every day. Azienda Talenti was established by Pierliugi Talenti in 1981. The...

March 2023 (Vintage 2021)

Dark ruby red. Opens on the nose to ripe dark fruit, cold fruit tea, grapefruit zest, milk chocolate in the aftertaste. Juicy palate notion, emphatically fruity, precise and elegant, finishes clear and bright.

April 2019

Talenti’s is quite big, rich and ambitious for Rosso and why not? When you own a vintage and a vineyard embarrassment of riches you may as well go whole cinghiale. The meatiness and sumptuous unction are two aspects that make this a phenomenal food Rosso and also one that will age into great secondary character four or five years down the road.

May 2022 (Vintage 2020)

Violet, camphor, dark-skinned fruit and French oak aromas form the nose. The full-bodied palate is more expressive, offering dried cherry, baking spice and licorice set against firm, fine-grained tannins. This is a serious Rosso that shows good mid-term aging potential.

March 2021 (Vintage 2019)

The 2019 Rossos give an exciting preview of how the upcoming Brunellos may fare. Some examples like this have nothing to complain about in terms of quality and complexity. It's super-pale in the glass - suggestive of the relatively high position of the estate in Sant'Angelo in Colle - with bright red currant aromas and pomegranate flavour, both completed by black pepper complexity and a smoky finish. The palate is almost full, while chewy and sweet, grainy tannins lend perfect balance with refreshing acidity and a broad, cherry kernel finish typical of Sangiovese. Great definition.

October 2022 (Vintage 2020)

Crushed hard red candies, dusty rose and autumnal spices create a deeply alluring bouquet as the 2020 Rosso di Montalcino opens in the glass. This is soft and round with juicy acidity that further enlivens its ripe red berries as peppery inner florals form toward the close. The 2020 leaves a gentle coating of tannins through the mouthwatering finale. This may possess the more immediate feel of the vintage, but the balance is impeccable.
