Faiveley's monopole Clos des Myglands on the northern edge of the village has delivered a delightful wine in 2022, with a lovely raspberry and plum fruit character, and a hint of rose petals and earth. The wine has a pronounced sweetness and a gratifyingly silky texture on the palate. Jérôme Flous remarked that despite the lack of water in 2022, the vines of the Côte Chalonnaise had a noticeably lower pH than those of the Côte d'Or in general, which helps keep this lively and fresh. A genuinely delightful success.

Wonderful aromas of plums, orange peel and stones. Full-bodied, round and soft with a juicy finish. A deep and rich pinot. Fantastic wine. Made from six hectares. Best ever? Drink now.

Lovely black fruit with some wet earth and black mushrooms, following through to a full-bodied palate with a gorgeous core of ripe-berry flavors and soft, savory texture. Velvety.

De façon générale, 2015 fut un excellent millésime. Et Erwan Faiveley et son équipe en ont visiblement profité pour nous concocter cette superbe cuvée « Clos des Myglands ». Héritier d’un patrimoine viticole unique, Erwan Faiveley a pris la suite de son père en 2005. Sa soeur Ève l’a rejoint en 2014. Depuis leur arrivée, les vins de la maison Faiveley n’ont cessé de progresser. Par exemple, ce Mercurey premier cru d’une remarquable richesse, dévoile des arômes de prunes, de groseilles, de mûres, de cerises, de framboises, d’épices et de fleurs, entrelacés de notes minérales, boisées et fumées. En bouche, l’attaque est somptueuse, à la fois pleine, veloutée et d’une grande précision aromatique. C’est un vin absolument délicieux, savoureux, complexe et élégant! La finale est persistante et s’accroche avec un festival de saveurs entre le fruit et les notes d’élevage.

Oxygéner en carafe 45 minutes et servir à 17 °C. Il s’affirmera avec les cailles braisées, le filet de saumon, le boeuf bourguignon, les côtes de veau aux champignons, ou le thon rouge grillé.

This combines red-berry perfume with some earthy power. Pretty concentrated and complex wine for the appellation, the rather polished tannins giving it nice textural complexity. Long and generous, but cool and slightly salty finish.

Though vibrant and racy in profile, this red is also concentrated, evoking wild cherry, currant, cinnamon candy, sandalwood and spice flavors. Balanced and persistent, with brisk acidity driving the long aftertaste.

Monopole. Mid cherry. Smells sweet fruited and gentle. Really lovely soft fruit and tannins, already easily drinkable, with good fruit depth – a little darker fruit than the Framboisière and well structured even though it is so rounded.

Enticing nose of black raspberries and sour cherries. Wonderful freshness and vitality. Silky tannins for this appellation. Long, clean and bright finish.

(from classic red Mercurey soil; tasted from tank): Bright, dark ruby-red. Lively scents of black cherry, licorice and flowers. Round and sweet but penetrating in the mouth; less showy than the Framboisière but more firmly structured. This juicy midweight offers a solid core of dark cherry and licorice flavor and finishes with rising floral length and a distinctly dark cast.

Deeper-pitched and more brooding than the more ethereal Framboisière, Faiveley's 2020 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Myglands delivers aromas of ripe cherries, berries, licorice, bitter chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a concentrated core of fruit and powdery tannins, it will demand a bit of patience this year.

Bright medium red. Liqueur-like cherry and spices on the inviting nose. Dense and savory on the palate, with very good cut and saline complexity to the flavors of dark cherry, rose petal and spices. Finishes youthfully medicinal, persistent and perfumed, with excellent structure for Mercurey. The crop level here was about 40 hectoliters per hectare, or about 10% lower than usual, noted Bernard Hervet.

Monopole. Bright cherry fruit, light palate, very spiky acid. A light dusting of tannin – precociously charming, but a little insubstantial.

A discreet application of wood sets off the pretty array of plum, earth and red and dark currant scents. There is a bit more volume to the medium-bodied flavors that possess a
velvety mid-palate while delivering better persistence on the ever-so-slightly rustic finish. This too is quite good.
